History

Rotaract Club Timisoara was founded on the 15th May 1999, at the initiative of Rotary Club Timisoara and in support of the rotarian principles. A number of 12 young people took initiative and set the bases of this club, becoming founding members.

Since its foundation, our club recruited more new members, and at present a number of 35 young people who study and/or work in Timisoara are members of our Rotaract Club.

Together we carried out different projects of community interest, and preliminaries for future initiatives already show in the club meetings.

At the moment of its founding, Rotaract Club Timisoara was an event. Now, there is a group of young people who create every time they meet an event: during the weekly meetings, in our agreements and initiatives, and in the certainty of having discovered, through and in everyone of us, a new way of life.

Rotaract Club Timisoara promotes, in the specific context of the Banat region, the general objectives of rotarian and rotaractian communities:

• Conceiving of a new communication and collaboration model based on individual qualities of our members;
• The influence and support of local, regional and national community through the presence and implication of the club;
• Developing professional abilities;
• Recognition and promotion of ethic standards, leadership abilities and vocational responsibility;
• Developing knowledge and understanding towards the local, regional, national and international communities’ necessities, problems and opportunities.
